An archaeological survey was conducted on a 15.17 acre property near Kilauea, Kaua'i. The parcel is located on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway on a ridge overlooking Pu'ukumu Stream. The parcel has two existing buildings belonging to Kaua'i Marine (a showroom and a workshop). The entire parcel, except for the gullies, was cultivated in sugar until recently. Black drip irrigation tubing is visible on the ground surface.

A test trench was excavated in a concentration of coral and shell within the field area. This material was deposited with marine sand as liming fertilizer on the fields and has been observed elsewhere in Kilauea Sugar Co. fields. No surface or subsurface archaeological materials were found, and the development of the property will have no impact on archaeological resources.
